About Me.

Hi! My name is Amy and I’m a London-based graphic designer. My experience is mostly in branding but I’m looking to broaden my horizons and expand my skillset. I have done work for a variety of clientele, ranging from more corporate law firms, fiduciaries and insurance to grungy band campaigns and modern, colourful PR companies.

I have a love for eclectic and whimsical art, though this is more of a passion and source of inspiration that comes into my personal projects. For more, read below!

For a bit of background: I grew up in Spain, where my grandfather taught me to draw and paint and the creativity in me blossomed. Though my practice and experience is mostly digital, I have developed a love for handmade, eclectic creations which I think is thanks to the Mediterranean culture I was exposed to from a young age. How could you not be drawn to the arts when you’re surrounded by such vibrant foods, music, architecture and sunlight?

Having never really lived in the UK, I decided to go to the University of Leeds where I studied Graphic and Communication Design for 3 years - much to my grandfather’s disappointment that I didn’t study Fine Art. During my studies, I worked 2 part-time graphic design jobs and after graduating I worked in an estate agents in Spain, working on freelance design projects on the side.

After that, I worked as a junior graphic designer at Kenshō Agency in Gibraltar where I worked on numerous branding projects and gained invaluable experience. I worked on brand naming, strategy, colour palette, typography, logo development and creation, brand implementation, social media projects, campaign work, and photography to name a few. I was given a lot of freedom - and responsibility - to develop and grow.

I also worked as a waitress part-time in a local restaurant which taught me how to be organised and manage priorities as well as a good work ethic. It was tough but really great experience to find the balance between the harder mental, creative work of my design job and the physical and social drain of the hospitality work.

Since moving to London, I have been working in the Front of House team at Blacklock Covent Garden while looking for design work. It’s been inspiring to work for a company that cares about its people and has a real focus on making happy people everywhere - be it customers or employees. As a bonus, I love to see a company that cares about socially conscious work and their own environmental impact (and working to reduce it).

Thanks for visiting my website, I hope you enjoy my work!
